Parish Council
Council for Solidarity and Human Dignity
Environmental Stewardship
The goal of the environmental stewardship group is to demonstrate that we are mandated by God to protect His creation. The group publishes a weekly article in the bulletin with ideas for conservation, ecological religious quotes, and other Catholic environmental reflections. We also plan several events throughout the year that focus on sustainability, simple living, and enjoying nature. The group is always open to new members and we would encourage more parish involvement.
Respect Life
The goal of the respect life group is to provide a forum to help the parish live the gospel mandate to love. The work to serve our unborn as well as our elderly brothers and sisters, who are a group in special need of advocacy today.
Justice and Social Concerns
The goal of this group is to provide a forum to help the parish live the gospel mandate to love and serve the poor and socio-economically marginalized. They work with JustFaith Ministries to accomplish these goals.
The three groups as sharing a basic overall gospel mandate, about a consistent ethic of life and dignity. They share the following objectives.
- Educate by bringing in speakers.
- Educate by periodic bulletin announcements and inserts
- Educate through making pamphlets and other written materials available to parishioners; providing reading lists; organizing study groups
- Organize and facilitate outreach activities of various sizes and scales and commitment levels for parishioners to become involved in
- Increase overall parish awareness of the needs of these particular groups (the poor; the unborn/elderly; the earth/environment) and the Church’s appropriate response
- Practice accountability by providing articulated goals as well as regular reports and updates to the parish and the pastoral staff
